Grilled Pastrami Reuben

Everyone has their favorite Reuben sandwich. This one is ours. It’s a classic. Don’t mess with it.

Meat Suggestions

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter, at room temperature

  • 4 slices marble rye bread

  • 12 oz thinly-sliced Nations Best® First Cut Pastrami

  • 4 oz drained sauerkraut

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

Russian Dressing

  • 1/4 c mayonnaise

  • 1 Tbsp ketchup

  • 2 tsp sweet pickle relish


Directions

Serves 2

  1. Combine the Russian Dressing ingredients.

  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread and Russian Dressing on the other.

  3. On two slices of bread, cover the dressing side with the pastrami, sauerkraut, and cheese. Cover with the remaining slices of bread, dressing side down.

  4. Cook the sandwiches in a skillet over medium-high heat, pressing down on them with the back of a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes per side. Cut in half and serve immediately.
