“Emeril’s Favorite Pastrami Sandwich”

We couldn’t resist including this recipe from Chef Emeril Lagasse. It’s his favorite “Manwich,” with the pastrami simmered in beer and grainy mustard.

Meat Suggestions

Ingredients

  • 6 oz pastrami (we recommend Nations Best® First Cut, of course!)

  • 2 Tbsp whole-grain mustard

  • 4 oz beer

  • 3 slices onion, rings intact

  • 1 Tbsp oil

  • Salt & freshly-ground pepper, to taste

  • 2 slices rye bread or thick crusty brown bread


Directions

Serves 1

  1. Preheat a grill. Season onions with salt and pepper and brush with oil.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine beer and mustard and bring to a boil. Add pastrami and simmer for 3 minutes.

  3. Grill onions on both sides and toast bread on a cooler part of the grill. When all ingredients are heated, prepare sandwich.
