Reuben & Tomato Sandwich

Reubens are perfect either grilled or toasted, and traditionally use either corned beef or pastrami. For this sandwich, we’ve added tomato and prefer using Nations Best® Corned Beef Round, which has a wonderfully rich and moist flavor.

Meat Suggestions

Ingredients

  • 2 slices rye bread

  • 1 Tbsp softened butter

  • 1 1/2bsp Thousand Island dressing

  • 1/4 c sauerkraut

  • 6 oz thinly-sliced Nations Best® Corned Beef Round

  • 1 thick tomato slice

  • 2 oz thinly-sliced Swiss cheese


Directions

Serves 1

  1. Spread one side of each slice of bread with the butter, and Thousand Island dressing on the other.

  2. Layer the sauerkraut over the dressing on one slice, then top with the corned beef, tomato and Swiss cheese.

  3. Cover with the remaining slice of bread, dressing side down. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per side.
