Corned Beef & Provolone Strata (Casserole)

This strata a puffy, baked egg dish – uses Nations Best® Corned Beef with provolone cheese instead of Swiss for a simple, but pleasurable change. Easy to assemble in advance, this is a great brunch or Sunday dinner dish that gets better as it sits.

Ingredients

  • Butter, for greasing

  • 10 slices rye bread, torn coarsely

  • 3 c shredded Nations Best® Corned Beef Round

  • 2 c (8 oz) grated Provolone cheese

  • 6 large eggs, lightly beaten

  • 3 c whole milk

  • Salt & freshly-ground black pepper, to taste


Directions

Serves 6

  1. Lightly butter a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.

  2. Scatter the bread over the bottom of the buttered dish. Cover with the Nations Best® Corned Beef and then the cheese.

  3. Beat the eggs, milk, and salt and pepper together in a bowl and pour over the cheese.

  4. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.

  5. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake covered for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for 8 to 10 minutes more, or until bubbly and puffed.
