Florida’s Favorite Cuban Sandwich

This sandwich traditionally nestles ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese and dill pickle in a Cuban roll, which is then flattened in a sandwich press until hot and melted. Any of Nations Best® deli meats, from Tongue to turkey to pastrami, will make a similarly-robust sandwich. Dont have a sandwich press? Use a heavy iron skillet to weigh the sandwich down during cooking, instead.

Meat Suggestions

Ingredients

  • 4 8′ French or Italian bread rolls (not baguette)

  • Butter, softened

  • Prepared yellow mustard

  • 8 thin dill pickle slices

  • 1 1/2b thinly-sliced Nations Best® First Cut Corned Beef Brisket

  • 8 ounces thinly-sliced Swiss cheese

Directions

Serves 4

  1. Lightly butter and then spread mustard on the inside of the rolls.

  2. Layer the pickles, brisket and cheese on the bottom halves. Cover with the tops.

  3. Grill the sandwiches in a lightly-oiled skillet. Use a heavy iron pan to weigh the sandwiches down, until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Cut each in half and serve immediately.
